When wool fibers are rubbed and pressed together in the presence of heat, water and soap or other alkaline material, the microscopic scales which form the outer layer of the wool become entangled. The wool foams a coherent solid called felt. If the fibers are pressed and rubbed agains a loosely woven fabric, some fibers migrate through the fabric and bind the wool layer to the fabric. This is called “Nuno felting”.

We use a variety of vintage and antique fabrics…lace curtains, Indian saris, tablecloths, repurposing them into garments, lap robes, etc. These one- of- a- kind items are for sale as they become available.
